About the Event

As the light fades, bats leave their roosts and hunt for moths, mosquitoes and midges 🦇🦟 Join Emily for a walk at dusk to discover the bats of Chichester. Location point will be emailed separately. Using handheld bat detectors, we'll hear them echolocation to catch insects as well as learn about bat ecology, lifecycle, conservation and behaviour.

Suitable for older children, under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

What to bring: Sturdy boots, torch with a red light (red lights are kinder for bats - bike lights are great for this!) and warm clothing.

What if it rains? The event will be rescheduled and you will be notified 24 hours before via email.

Your tutor: Emily is a passionate ecologist who specialises in coordinating bat survey work across the South, working with local authorities to deliver environmental initiatives and bring ecology to the forefront of significant developments. Emily's enthusiasm for nature shines through in her interactive outdoor learning sessions.
