About the Event

As the light fades, bats leave their roosts and hunt for insects. 🦇🦟 Exact location and parking details sent in booking confirmation email.

Join Emily for a walk at dusk to discover the bats of Chichester. Using handheld bat detectors, we'll hear bats echolocating and see them flying through the trees. You'll learn about bat ecology, lifecycle, interesting habits and behaviour.

Suitable for older children. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

What to bring: Sturdy boots, torch with a red light (red lights are kinder for bats - bike lights are great for this!) and warm clothing.

What if it rains? The event will be rescheduled and you will be notified 24 hours before via email.

Your tutor: Emily is an ecologist and holds a Natural England Level 2 Class Survey Licence for Bats. She specialises in bat surveys and is also a local bat rescuer. Emily's enthusiasm for bats shines through in her interactive outdoor learning sessions.
