About the Event

Did you know we have 24 species of bumblebee in the UK? 🐝🌸 Discover the fascinating world of bumblebees by joining me on a walking workshop at Levin Down. You will receive a free handout guide and we will discuss their ecology, behaviour and lifecycle and hopefully spot plenty along the way. Every workshop has six to eight attendees and is held in an informal, friendly atmosphere for the best learning experience.

This workshop is aimed at beginners wanting to learn the basic skills for ID as we will focus on our most common species, through to more experienced spotters wishing to refresh their skills.

How to get there: RSPB Pagham Harbour overflow car park.

How to book: Select the number of attendees below and pay online. Or email me imprintecology@gmail.com to book your space and pay via bank transfer.

What to bring: Sturdy boots (we will be walking uphill to the reserve on uneven ground), suncream, water, hand sanitiser. If you have a bug net/lens/pot please bring these, otherwise I have things to share around (all will be sanitised). This event is not suitable for children below 12 (under 18s must be accompanied by an adult). No dogs please, unless I know your dog and they are calm and friendly but they must be kept on a lead on the reserve.

What if it rains? The event will be rescheduled and you will be notified 24 hours before via email.

About the tutor: Hi, I'm Emily. I'm a freelance ecologist, I work for Bumblebee Conservation Trust and hold a BSc in Wildlife Conservation and a post-grad certificate in Ecological Consultancy. I began teaching wildlife workshops in 2019 and my approach has always been fun, informal and effective for students who wish to foster a deeper connection with nature. I have a soft-spot for bumblebees, solitary bees, butterflies, bats, trees and wildflowers. I am a friendly and welcoming teacher who loves to share my passion for nature through engaging, outdoor learning.
